Dating from the 6th century in the early Saxon period, Wellingborough was mentioned in the Doomsday book under the name of Wendelburie. Within a short drive, you will find the stunning Castle Ashby House and Gardens, Santa Pod Raceway track which is the home of European drag racing events, Wickstead Park in Kettering which was the first leisure park to open in the UK dating back to 1916.
