Modern Europe began in Greece and the origins of and structures of many modern languages did also. A varied land with lakes, rock faces, woodlands and glorious beaches, it is not mandatory to love Greece but you should.
Moving to Greece is to make a positive life choice, to live better, happier and more relaxed (Certainly in comparison to most countries). Living in a land of Myths and Monuments, soaking in the sunshine with a myriad of wonderful sand beaches to choose from, it is a wonder we do not all live there, still not convinced? Well allow me to help you with that
HELLO SUNSHINE
350 DAYS A YEAR where the Sun Breaks through, by comparison my home city of Edinburgh has 191 days of RAIN!
The Sunshine is so consistent that when it rains it will make a novel change for you, the temperatures vary in the region but the them is Warm with HOT in Summer (Greece has the highest recorded Temperature in any European City of 48.0c) So consider that in the Summer months you will certainly be making use air conditioning (It is not pleasant without, so ensure you have this)
LOW COST LIVING IDEAL FOR DIGI NOMADS
Digital Nomads are like restless Expats, they like to be abroad but not in one place for too long.
Wages are not high, wages are not medium, they are in fact very low for Europe and if you are pulling in over 1000 Euro a month you will be without question in the top half of earners! This means anyone that is working online (WORK WITH US) can live really well due to low housing costs, bills and even food.
Local transport is also a bargain and prices are in line with local wages so if you are arriving on a solid pension / passive income or have good work, you can live a champagne lifestyle for lemonade money.
GREAT FOOD
Expats always often have a culture shock with regard to what food they are expected to eat, well do not worry in Greece it will be a pleasure every time as the dishes he dishes are full of flavor, ingredients are fresh and usually very local. Feta really cannot get any better (Apologies for the rhyme)
BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN GREECE
A picture is worth a thousand words so allow me to share
HERITAGE SITES AND MONUMENTS GALORE
We are going to assume that you know this want a swift list to check this useful list (List opens in new tab)
LOW CRIME RATE
Petty crime exists everywhere (Possible exception being North Korea) so you can always find someone who knows someone that had their purse pinched or was given the wrong change by a taxi.
The fact is Greece enjoys low crime rates which are almost the lowest in Europe. Athens will be the place you are most likely to encounter any problems, which is no surprise as Major Cities never just draw only Tourists and Expats. You should as always be aware of people around you but there is no reason to suspect that everyone is out to take advantage of you and out in the Islands crime is close to zero.
WELCOMING LOCALS
For many what makes Greece feel like a home away from home are its people, who are truly warm and welcoming. Their hospitality is consistent and genuine, it is a true pleasure to visit and experience a reception that clearly communicate that you are welcome and welcome permanently.
UNIQUE EXPERIENCES in GREECE
If you are a bucket list type of person then you want to add climbing the Meteora right now. There are so many things you might do that rather than make a list it is best to organise a relocation tour and simply do them.
