Hi Expats! I’d like to tell you a story
Yesterday I was in Florence, and I met a friend of mine; she comes from Sweden, but she’s living in Italy since 15 years, and she was telling me that as soon as the borders would be open, she would fly home. But she’s a bit worried, because living here, she acted now more as an Italian than a Swedish, and to her relatives and friends she is too expansive, too physical, too Italian. And I perfectly understood, because in Sweden they have a tenth of citizens than Italy, and five times our surface: social distancing is normality!
Even the most empathic and tender friend, full of enthusiasm because he’s meeting you after two months of quarantine, would at least smile at you six meters away, and that’s it. I’m joking, but can you understand how social distancing is affecting our behavior, our lives, our mood?”If you want to shut down an Italian, tie his hands on his back” gestures are life, to us, but sometimes some of them should be avoided.
This short video is explaining one you absolutely must not do: Goose, the Top Gun pilot, would help me on this.
