My specialization lies in oil colors, although I occasionally use acrylics as well. The Renaissance era serves as a significant source of inspiration for me, as I am fascinated by the way artists of that time were able to depict reality with such vividness and accuracy. These paintings enable us to see and understand the past in a way that wouldn’t be possible without them.
One aspect I particularly enjoy is painting real-life images, such as someone’s favorite photo. It creates a strong emotional connection for the person commissioning the artwork. Unlike printed photos that tend to be forgotten over time, an oil painting shines with its colors and can last a lifetime. It holds a special significance, just like the famous painting of Mona Lisa.
While technology has made significant advancements in various fields, the printing of photos hasn’t quite reached the same level of development. If you were to print a photo today, you would likely notice that the printed image doesn’t quite match the one on your screen. Colors may appear different, details can be lost, and the overall quality might not do justice to the original photo. However, with a custom oil painting, I can capture details from multiple photos, add or remove elements, and even change the background to match your desires.
For example, in the painting displayed below, I combined five photos with a background chosen by the client and included a blue crab as per their request. I take great pleasure in creating unique artworks that hold a special place in people’s hearts and homes.
