Talk about a headline, but it is true, well true based on a study/estimate from the University of Coburg earlier this month.
Needed 260000 Workers(estimated)
The study estimates that Germany will require an average of 260,000 incoming workers per year for the next 4 decades, i make that an army of Millions or 10.4 million to be exact. This means that almost any expat with no firm idea on where they might settle should surely be taking a fresh look at their CV to see if they can be part of the push from all fronts into Germany.
More than half of these folks are expected to come from outwith the EU although estimates of what may or may not be required in the next 12 months are often far off so expecting that 56% of this army of workers will be non EU is almost certainly not going to be accurate.
The fact does remain though that Germany can be seen as a land of opportunity for many and this study is sure to stimulate interest in the expat community in moving there.
The study shows that the workforce without any incoming labour will drop from 49 million to 38 million and seems to have concluded that in 40 years time somehow Germany despite the inevitable technological advances will require the same amount of manpower.U
You tried switching on and then off?
TECH JOBS.. You name an I.T. job role and you can rest assured that there is a projected shortage in Germany. Any Expat looking to move to Germany and bring their tech knowledge is going to be in a strong position. Analysts, software developers and Programmers are all in high demand and will be for at least a decade.
LETS PAY DRs and Nurses
Like many Western European Countries, Germany could not care for its own population due to the lack of DRs and Nurses, this being the case the Germans have sought to cultivate as many bilateral agreements as they can in order to smooth the path for medical professionals from around the world to find work in Germany. Care staff are well paid in Germany.
Engineering
Electronics, Structural, Mechanical.
Basically any word that can preceed Engineer is a golden ticket. In fact, more Engineers are employed at this point of 2019 versus 2018 but the demand has increased massively and vacancies on a like for like basis are now 50% more plentiful.. ANY EXPAT that is an Engineer wants to get themselves to Germany!
Teaching vacancies
Teaching jobs in many countries suffer from the stereotypical perception that is summarised in the frequently uttered
Those Who can DO, those who cannot Teach
The low (Relatively) wages and lack of opportunities for progression within the school system is known to be less than exciting for young university graduates who feel ready to conquer the world.
The Salary and Terms in Germany are relatively very good so any expat who wants to teach should at least have Germany on their shortlist.
